National Tea Day at ActivUs Lounge – Charity Fundraiser

National Tea Day celebrates the drinking of tea and the British honor their tea. It is their national drink after all. Whether it’s English Breakfast or Early Grey isn’t really important. It’s tea time! That’s what’s important! Come and celebrate the National Tea Day at ActivUs this year and support a good cause! Get in touch to book your table or just come along at the time that suits you.

We will run two sessions on Saturday 21st April 2018 from 2pm-6pm and Sunday 22nd April 2018 from 11am-5pm – get in touch to book your table or just come along at the time that suits you.

£5 per person – choice of tea and a slice of cake You could add a plate of sandwiches or cakes/biscuits if you wish (at an additional charge)

All profits from the event will be used for our new charitable project Step Out Move On which is about linking people up to non-medical social and physical activities in Worthing and the wider community. Step Out Move On has been designed to help people benefit from a wide range of issues, including improve health conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, asthma, arthritis, overweight or obesity, depression or anxiety, or osteoporosis, among others; increase mobility; reduce isolation and loneliness; manage depression and anxiety; improve sleep patterns; improve confidence; learn new skills; meet new people and find lasting friendships.

Activus is managed by Aquaterra, a registered charity as well as an innovative organisation with a big heart for sustaining healthier, happier and fitter communities.

Aquaterra works in partnership with councils to manage an   array of sports and leisure centres and facilitate programmes, classes and tuition to create healthier and happier communities.

Aquaterra is the partner of choice for quality and innovation to deliver positive, proactive outcomes. In addition to managing leisure and sports facilities on behalf of local authorities we work in partnership with key organisations including NHS trusts, local health professionals, housing associations, other not-for-profit organisations and councils, to deliver the benefits and enjoyment to be had from participating in physical activity.

Ladies Night – Charity Event

Baby Talk Group

Calling all new mums or mums to be! Come with your little ones on a Tuesday or Friday to our newly refurbished Lounge. We have special classical music movies to help your little treasures relax and learn, as well as a selection of toys to keep them entertained. Feel free to bring your own ones as well! As for the grown ups – you could catch up with friends or make new ones over a cup of tea/coffee and a treat (sweet or savour)

Join us on Tuesdays from 10am-12pm or Fridays from 12pm-3pm

 

Free Grandparents Playgroup

Every Friday from 10am-1pm

If you are a grandparent looking after your grandchild/children on a part time or full time basis then this is the group for you. This free group is set up in a warm, safe and friendly environment. We have a selection of toys for the little ones and we show various educational movies and everyone’s favourite children classics like Winnie the Pooh and Bambi.

Joining a grandparent group can be a way of forming new friendships, sharing ideas and experiences and socializing with other grandparents in a similar situation.

Story Time With Usborne Books

Join us from 12pm on Wednesday 25th April 2018 or from 10am Thursday 26th April 2018

Stephanie will have an amazing selection of dinosour stories on Wednesday and space stories on Thursday, not forgetting a variety of activities for the little ones
Grown ups could enjoy the stories whilst having a cup of tea/coffee in one of our cosy armchairs.

 

Breakfast Club & Free Toddlers Playgroup

Come to our newly refurbished child friendly lounge that is not connected to the soft play facility (accessible form the foyer) on Thursday mornings from 10am-2pm. In addition to the lovely sitting arrangements (including sofas and armchairs) we have a kids corner (offering selection of wooden toys and books). The little ones could enjoy the toys as well as watch some lovely educational videos with classic music or some children movies like Winnie the Pooh and many more.

The grown up could have a healthy breakfast or freshly made smoothie, hot or cold drink and catch up with friends or make some new ones.

Homework Club

Homework Club at ActivUs Lounge is launching on Wednesday, 18 April 2018 and will continue every Wednesday from 3.30pm-6pm – come straight after school and enjoy our brand new lounge. Children could relax and watch a movie and play at our kids corner or start doing their homework! We have free Wi-Fi available so feel free to bring a tablet or laptop!
While children are busy playing with friends or doing homework, adults could catch up with friends or make some new ones!
We serve drinks and food – give children their tea and no washing up at home.
This is a free club and everyone is welcome!
