Activus is part of Compass Card, a new local initiative to increase the range of affordable leisure activities for those with additional needs aged 0-15.
Compass Card West Sussex is being delivered by local charity Amaze and is modelled on a Compass Card which launched in Brighton and Hove which was recognised nationally as a model of best practice. Around 300 Compass Cards with guides to businesses offering discounts have been sent out in the area, but families who are new to the scheme can apply online.
There is also a Compass Card app which is updated with new offers.
Eve Hepworth, Activus Manager said: “I’m really happy to be part of Compass Card and hopefully many families with kids who are disabled or have additional needs will know that we are here for them.
“Later on this summer we will have refurbished our sensory room, which will suit the needs of lots of Compass Card holders.
“Activus is run on a non-profit basis by Aquaterra and, as a charity, our organisation is all about increasing access to health, activity and leisure as much as possible.”
